How to write sales copy that actually sells
Copywriting lessons from “The One-Legged Golfer”
If you want to learn how to write great copy, you have to study great copy.
I stumbled upon a famous sales letter by John Carlton.
He’s easily the most ripped-off copywriter. For good reason.
It’s a simple sales letter for a tape on a new technique to golf, complete with a little field manual you can take on the links.
But…I have a confession. I have no f**king clue how to golf.
So, when I started reading this piece, I was skeptical.
“How can I connect with this writing?”
And after reading it…I’ve changed my tune.
I couldn’t stop reading.
And I’d bet my entire 401k that you’ll connect with it too.
If you’re interested in actually connecting to your customers, you should read this.
There’s seven important lessons about selling that you can learn from this, but…one problem.
It’s 8 full pages. (I guess people had more time to read back then?)
So I’ll spare you the reading time and spill the secrets here.
